The CESD participated in the “International Business and Human Rights: Holding Governments Accountable in Asia Conference” organized by The Asia Centre in Bangkok from 12-13th July 2018. The thematic focus of the conference was on human rights in business which follows the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights made by the Human Rights Council in 2011. Over the two day conference, various experts and professionals were given an opportunity to present their findings and discuss human rights aspects from a business perspective. (more…)
The Centre for Economic and Social Development (CESD) recently attended the 3rd Stakeholders Forum on Labour Law Reform and Institutional Capacity Building in Nay Pyi Taw. Hosted by the International Labour Organization and sponsored by the European Union, the forum brought together a variety of stakeholders such as labour unions, business representatives, government ministries, and international organizations contributing to the ongoing labour reforms in Myanmar.
The CESD has been very active at the thematic area for labour market reforms and has participated in several workshops, trainings and event over the last quarter (July – September 2017).
