Labour Migration Stakeholders meeting continues focus on migration factors

The CESD attended the Labour Migration Stakeholders meeting at Thingaha Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw. The event was organised by The Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population (MOLIP) and the International Labour Organisation (ILO), and was supported by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAT), Global Affairs Canada (GAC), Developing International Internal Migration Governance (DILM) and Livelihood and Food Security Trust Fund (LIFT).

CESD facilitates meeting with Shan Regional Goverment for SAM Project

The CESD recently organised a visit to Taungyyi in Shan State this month to facilitate discussions with the Shan State Regional Government along with other project partners including Impact Terra as part of the Smart Agriculture Myanmar (SAM) Project. The SAM Project is currently being implemented with Impact Terra as the lead partner along with the CESD, Satelligence, Financial Access and Wagenigen University in the Netherlands to bring about digital solutions to enhance the productivity and livelihoods for farmers in Myanmar.

CESD’s 4th Quarter Newsletter Released

We are pleased to announce our fourth-quarter newsletter of 2018 (October-December). During the fourth quarter of 2018, CESD continued to focus on labour reform, food security, and aquaculture. CESD facilitated and organised multiple workshops, field visits and other research activities across multiple projects.

CESD conducts field surveys to evaluate training and services

The CESD closed the year by undertaking field surveys of approximately 200 workers in 2 Sunday Cafés and the Women Centre. They are operated by the worker association Thon Pan Hla and the Women Centre, and supported by the Confederation of Trade Unions in Myanmar (CTUM).
