Recently, CESD staff travelled to Twante, situated south-east of Yangon, to do further research on the aquaculture sector in the township. The research is a part of CESD’s engagement with the Myanmar Sustainable Aquaculture Programme(MYSAP), funded by the European Union and GIZ. (more…)
The CESD participated in the “International Business and Human Rights: Holding Governments Accountable in Asia Conference” organized by The Asia Centre in Bangkok from 12-13th July 2018. The thematic focus of the conference was on human rights in business which follows the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights made by the Human Rights Council in 2011. Over the two day conference, various experts and professionals were given an opportunity to present their findings and discuss human rights aspects from a business perspective. (more…)
CESD concluded a field visit to the Yut Sauk Township, in Shan State as part of its engagement with the Smart Agriculture Myanmar (SAM) project along with Impact Terra. The field visit was aimed at introducing the Golden Paddy mobile application to maize (corn) farmers and gather necessary inputs for future research.
