Nang Sen Pin
Senior Program Coordinator
Nang Seng Pin began working for CESD as a Senior Program Coordinator joining CESD in 2016. Her duties primarily relate to the Food Security and Rural Development Program (FSP), implemented in partnership with Michigan State University (MSU). Seng Pin is also responsible for ensuring that CESD’s internal policies are consistent with organizational objectives, as well as working with CESD management to improve organizational strategy, develop proposals, and maintain donor relations. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Taunggyi University (Shan State) and a Master’s in Business Administration at Payap University in Chiang Mai (Thailand). While completing her MBA in Chiang Mai, Seng Pin worked as a Field Coordinator for the Community Development and Civic Empowerment Program (CDCE), a certificate program within Chiang Mai University. Prior to her engagements in Chiang Mai, Seng Pin was a Program Assistant at the Vahu Development Institute, a local research institute in Bangkok, where her focus was on developing migration surveys, which eventually sparked her interest in Human Rights and International Law, consequentially leading her to participate in a Human Rights in Asia course at Seoul National University (South Korea). In addition to human rights and international law, Seng Pin’s interests lie in organizational management, development, and gender mainstreaming. Microeconomics, trade law and global value chains also drew her interests leading her to complete an executive course called “Managing Cross Border Trade and Value Chains in Southeast Asia” at the NUS Business School within the National University of Singapore. Currently, she is involved in CESD’s Regional Value Chain study.
Adithya B Kumar
Development and Communications Officer
Adithya B. Kumar (commonly known as “Addy”) is a Development and Communications Officer at CESD. Mr. Kumar’s responsibilities include identifying funding, collaboration, and business development opportunities as well as advising on programme strategy. He is currently supporting projects funded by IDRC, Canada, USAID, LIFT, and the Just Jobs Network, while actively engaging in human resource management and administrative activities across the organization. Having previously worked for several private- and public-sector entities across four countries, Mr. Kumar most recently held positions in Myanmar with LIFT and UNOPS before joining CESD.
Addy speaks seven languages (English, French, Italian, Czech, Tamil, Hindi, Myanmar) and holds a Bachelors in Business Administration from Madras Christian College (India) as well as a Diploma in Management from London School of Economics, and a CEMS Masters in International Management from University of Economics (Czech Republic) and Copenhagen Business School (Denmark). Addy is a PRINCE2 Practitioner and is currently working towards his CIPS Level 2 certification while fulfilling his duties at CESD.
Saw Soung Thein
Mr. Saw Soung Thein is working as an Admin/HR Officer at CESD-HQ. He graduated a Bachelor of Science in Geology from University of East Yangon: Besides, he finished his “Basic Diplomatic Skills” from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Myanmar (MOFA) and also finished Office Management Skills and Human Resources Management training from UMFCCI and Labor Laws Training from Top HR Solution, Lecture by U Thet Naing Oo (Retired), Deputy Director General at Ministry of Labor, Immigration and Population. He is currently studying for his Executive Diploma in Human Resources Management from Landon Executive Board. He was a founder and teacher at Win Gratis Education Centre, working there for over two years. In addition, he worked as a site hunter at Digicel Telecom Tower Company for one year. Moreover, he was HR cum Admin Executives of PALE NADI Group of Company. Then, he joined Irrawaddy Green Tower Company as HR assistant over one year.
May Sandar Nwe
Administrative and Logistics Officer
May Sandar is CESD’s Administrative and Logistics Officer. Since she joined CESD in 2016 she has managed logistics for CESD, such as venue arrangement for events and forums, and bus or air ticket purchasing. Moreover, she also manages CESD’s fixed assets, procurement, vehicle supervision, asset maintenance and external affairs. Before joining CESD, she worked for Myanmar Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (MEITI) National Coordination Office under CESD as the administration and logistics officer and de facto finance officer. May Sandar Nwe graduated from Dagon University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and has also received a Diploma in Accounting from the Landon Chamber of Commerce and Industry International Qualifications. She is also interested to learn and share knowledge about project/program implementation as she finds knowledge sharing and coordination is critical for her to effectively support CESD’s researchers and staff. Thus, she has participated in certificate training and programs, accomplishing business skill development, international finance reporting and communications skills.
Aye Pa Pa Soe
Project Administration/HR Officer
Aye Pa Pa Soe is studying research development procedures, focusing on sector-by-sector efficiency. She aids CESD’s labor team with research, attending program workshops, stakeholder events and working with research teams to manage appointments, events and interviews so team members can efficiently and effectively implement the findings of their fieldwork. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Mandalay University and an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from University of Thai Chamber of Commerce International College. Previously, she worked at UMFCCI for over thirteen years and moved to CESD to learn more and more about economic growth. She studied leadership abroad in KKC, Japan in 2014, and received masters training on effective business member organization at the jointly sponsored ITC-ILO event in Turin, Italy in 2015. She is very interested in organizational development. She participates in many of CESD’s activities such as the minimum wages discussions, national events, national tripartite meetings, business matching, and so on.
Khin Hnin Swe
Senior Finance Officer
Khin Hnin Swe joined the Centre for Economic and Social Development in 2016 as the Senior Finance Officer. In this role, she specializes in accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, and budgeting. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Yangon University. She is currently studying to join the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and has received her Diploma in Accounting from the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Additionally, she holds a Certificate in Financial Management Basic Rights (ES1) from Mango training. Prior to joining CESD, she served as a Finance Officer for the Myanmar Red Cross Society for four and a half years.
Yamin Phyo is a Finance officer at the Center of Economic & Social Development. Her responsibilities include monitoring expenditure against budget headings and reporting any cost variances to the Finance Department. She assists the monitoring and development of effective financial accountability systems which she controls in accordance with academic financial requirements. She also maintains CESD’s financial administration systems. She works together with the Finance Manager on matters relating to accounts and audits, specifically helping preparation for CESD’s annual account audit. She also works closely with the Finance Manager. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the East University of Than Lynn, a Diploma in Business Law from Yangon University. She is more than proficient in Financial Management, Professional Advanced Excel and Financial Training. Previously, he worked at Action Aid International as their Finance Officer. She has experience providing financial training to organisations such as the Women Self Help Group and Community Base Organization. She also worked for more than one year at Pact Myanmar International with their Finance & Administration Department.
Pwint Mu Mu Kyaw
Administration & Finance Assistant (FSP)
Pwint Mu Mu Kyaw is an Administrative and Finance Assistant for the Food Security Project. Since joining CESD in October 2015 her responsibilities have included maintaining the cashbook, performing bank transactions, cash payment transactions and assisting the Finance Officer. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Sittwe University in 2010. She has also received Diplomas in Accounting and Management Accounting from the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2012 and a Diploma in Business Law from Yangon University in 2013. Before joining to CESD, she worked as an Administration & Finance Officer for the Child Centre Climate Change Adaption and Safe School Retrofitting Project in Tangup Township, Rakhine State for the Lanthit Foundation.
Naw Hla Thida
Naw Hla Thida works for CESD as a Finance Assistant & Cashier, maintaining up-to-date cash ledgers, assisting the Finance Officer with the timely implementation of project reports and banking issues. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Yangon University, a Diploma in Development Studies from Yangon Economic University, a Diploma in Business Law from Yangon University and Certificate of Accounting from the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Level II & III). Prior to joining CESD, Naw Hla Thida worked at the Phoenix Association as a Project Accountant.
Aye Aye Htwe
Aye Aye Htwe is an Administrative Assistant in the Admin and Human Resources Department at Centre for Economic and Social Development (CESD).
She graduated from Yangon University (Distance-Education) with a Bachelor of Arts in Geography. During her college years, she volunteered at Care Myanmar Organization (HIV/AIDS Project) in Mon State for three years. Afterwards, she worked as an Outreach Health Worker at IOM International Organization for Migration (HIV/AIDS/TB Project) in Mon State.
Aye Aye Htwe is currently enrolled in the Business Information System Diploma program at the Yangon University of Distance Education. She can speak four languages, Mon (Mother tongue), Burmese, Thai and English.
Tin Aung Win
Administrative & Human Resources Assistant
Tin Aung Win graduated from Dagon University in 2016 majoring in English. He is currently working CESD’s Administrative & Human Resources Assistant, assisting daily office administration and supporting documentation of office records. He also supports internal and external communications (Phone Calls, emails etc.,), assists during the recruitment process and travel arrangements. He speaks Burmese (native) and English.
Khine Myat Thwe
Khine Myat Thwe is CESD’s office assistant aiding office documentation and day-to-day business administration. A recent graduate from Siam University of Thailand with her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, she previously interned at VES Group Company Ltd. She speaks English and Burmese with an understanding of Thai.
