S Kanayde is a Research Associate at the Center for Economic and Social Development (Myanmar), joining CESD in January 2015.
Kanayde has been involved in a range of research projects focused on small and medium business sector reform, labour market reform, and public financial management sector reforms, working together with international experts from CESD. His research work has included the “Myanmar small and medium enterprise (SME) participation in East Asia and ASEAN economic integration” survey (funded by ERIA & ISEAS) and the “Myanmar Enterprise Survey’ (funded by IDRC).
Prior to joining CESD, Kanayde provided business development assistance to restaurant businesses for Myanmar CP Live Stock. Responsibilities included implementing new restaurant projects; managing, reporting and monitoring restaurant construction processes; negotiating with government officials to acquire necessary licenses; and providing input to marketing strategies. Previously, Kanayde provided administrative and accounting assistant for a micro-credit program implemented by Myanmar Ceramic Society in Twantay Township, Yangon.
