Report: Making public finance work for children in Myanmar

CESD, in collaboration with UNICEF, has taken advantage of increased transparency of Myanmar’s national budget, developing an analysis of government budgets over four fiscal years, from 2011-12 to 2014-15.

Some of the research findings from CESD and Michigan State University’s work in Myanmar’s agrifood sector were shared at the annual LIFT forum, held in Nay Pyi Taw on 25-26 November 2014.


Round table discussion on social protection

CESD, together with the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) and International Labour Organisation (ILO), held a joint round table discussion on social security, or social protection, in November 2014. The event examined the need for countries to provide social protection in order to build stable societies, reduce insecurity, contain poverty and inequality, and ensure economic growth.


Discussion paper series: Subnational governments in Myanmar

A discussion paper series examining the decentralisation process in Myanmar – including the political, administrative, and fiscal aspects of decentralization – provides timely research on subnational governance issues to inform ongoing policy and reform processes.
